The Arboretum at Flagstaff was founded in 1981 as a private nonprofit organization under the official name “The Transition Zone Horticultural Institute.” While research was the original primary focus, over the years it has become known as a destination for local and out-of-town visitors who want to learn more about the native plants and animals found in northern Arizona.

Resident Mouser

Came to us from the Coconino Animal Shelter in March of 2012, advertised as a good mouser. Since then, she has caught a total of three mice and one bat—and appears to have ceased working for her food, as you can see in this photo. She spends her days begging for treats, digging in plants, scratching furniture—and going from lap to lap.
