Director of Horticulture
Mark was born in the topographically challenged area of the country known as the Midwest. To give a more exact location, his formative years were spent in the small town of Midlothian, located approximately 35 minutes south of Chicago, IL. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he earned a B.S. in Ornamental Horticulture and an M.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. To date, he has worked in several areas of the green industry (retail garden center, wholesale nursery management and sales, nursery stock production, landscape design/sales/installation, turf management and public gardening). Mark has often been accused of having too many interests. Some of his interests include, but are not limited to, marine and freshwater aquaria, woodworking, wood carving, classic automobile restoration (especially the 1967 Ford Mustang), hiking, scuba diving and physical fitness.
