Volunteer Opportunities

Calling all Volunteers!

The Arboretum recruits volunteers throughout the year to participate in daily activities and special events. If propagation, gardening, leading tours, or working with wildlife interests you, please consider sharing your time and talents with us!

Docent Training: A series of talks on the ecology of the Colorado Plateau that both informs the attendee and prepares them to give tours at the Arboretum! Sessions begin April 8th. Click here for more info

Docent Refresher and Potluck: Welcome back to our wonderful Arboretum docents!  Join us in preparation for our 2015 season for our Docent Refresher and Potluck on April 11, 2015 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Meet new and returning staff members, discover our new program vision, tour the grounds, meet our 2015 docents, and enjoy a day with your Arboretum family.  We look forward to seeing you all again!

    1. Nov 22, 10-2pm- open invite for volunteers- gardens or greenhouse work
    2. Dec 2, 10-2pm- open invite for volunteers- gardens or greenhouse work
    • Participants are to meet Horticulture staff at the main Greenhouse at the start time listed for each date for guidance and instructions.
    • The main Greenhouse is a large blue roofed building which is a short walk north of the main visitor parking area.
    • We recommend you dress in layers, bring a rain jacket, and bring personal water bottle and snacks.
    • Work will be associated with Horticulture tasks in the gardens or greenhouses.
    • All experience and ability levels are WELCOME to join us!

Get discounts: You get discounts at our gift shop and plant sales — 10 percent when you work more than 25 hours and 15 percent when you work more than 50 hours during a calendar year. One year membership discounts of 50% off for 25hrs volunteered in a calendar year, and FREE membership for 40 hours volunteered in a calendar year.
