10/1 Noon & 2:00 p.m. Birds of Prey Demonstrations See native owls, hawks and other birds of prey in "free flight" shows daily. Free with admission.
10/4 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Fall Open House Enjoy the fall colors and blooms. Free to public
10/8 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. Volunteers' Breakfast Arboretum's thanks to volunteers and docents. By invitation
10/11 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.. Fall Harvest Class:  Preserving Your Bounty Learn the best ways to preserve locally and regionally grown food:  canning, freezing, dehydrating, and air/sun drying;  Demonstrations and hands-on activities. $30 members;
$35 non-members.  All materials included
10/11 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. Fall Harvest Class:  Preparing a Regional Feast Participants will cook a meal together, using as many seasonal and regionally grown foods as possible.  The class will conclude with a feast of the dishes prepared in class. $30 members;
$35 non-members.  Includes all materials.
10/25 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Fall Harvest Class:  Beer-Brewing Basics For folks who are new to brewing and want to know how to get started.  Topics:  basic materials and ingredients, step-by-step instructions and demonstrations, pitfalls to avoid. $30 members;
$35 non-members.
10/25 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. Fall Harvest Class:  Winemaking Basics Novice winemakers will be introduced to all the steps necessary to craft wine at home.  Discussion of materials and methods, timelines and supply lists included, plus a tasting of various wine styles. $30 members;
$35 non-members
10/31 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m Last day of season Re-open April 1, 2009
